We are very happy to have you as a guest at SaltyWay for your surf and /or climbing holiday... adventure lies ahead!

We are located at beautiful Praia Grande, near Lisbon, Portugal.

Surfing is all about catching good waves, making the most of the best tides and winds. Since we are committed to taking you surfing in the very best conditions, the ideal time to head out in to the ocean is flexible and can change from day to day. We offer 5-day surf courses, which consist of half a day's surfing action and surf theory, and half a day of free time or free surfing. We also offer week-long courses for advanced surfers with two more advanced surf lessons, including video analysis, as well as five half day climbing holidays or a week of Surf & Climb.

We have a wide selection of the best beginner, progressive and intermediate surfboards, soft and hardboards depending on your ability and weight. Our variety of boards goes from 6'0" shortboard, 7’2" - 7’10" epoxy funshapes, and wooden 9’0" longboards. We're also proud to offer a variety of eco-friendly balsa wood surfboards from Kun_tiqi. We provide 5/3mm Prolimit wetsuits in a range of sizes for men, women and kids. If you wish to bring your own suit, we suggest packing a 5/3mm full suit for early mornings and a 3/2mm for midday/afternoon surfs.

The Saltyway house, a typical Portuguese ‘Moradia’, is perfectly located between the waves and the mountains in Colares, a little village along the coast of the municipality of Sintra. Whether you’re here to surf or to climb, you'll be right in the heart of the action. The place is created to feel like home, to relax and to get together with friends. You can sleep in rooms for six or two persons, or choose a private chalet nearby. We provide towels, bed linen and free and fast internet. We light up a fire in the living room at night and enjoy the cosy atmosphere of this big room with big windows. The kitchen offers all you need to make a good meal. We enjoy lots of nights in the big garden with a bonfire going and the tales of the day. It’s the perfect spot for BBQs, sunset beers, sunbathing, afternoon yoga or chilling out in a hammock with a book.

A key ingredient to our activity holidays is the ‘togetherness’ of the group. We believe living together builds an unbreakable bond during and sometimes even after a holiday. In fact, over the years the best evenings have definitely been when the group cooked together and shared a few glasses of local wine and tales from the day’s adventures. The type of people you meet on these trips want adventure, enjoy the outdoor life style and sunsets, travel and learn/improve their surfing or climbing; a blend of interests that make for a great group vibe. The vibe here is relaxed and welcoming to everyone of any age.
